Personally, I don’t believe in them. Calling something a resolution pretty much guarantees that I won’t keep it. People fail at them all the time, so why do we continue to make them?
Because human beings have to have goals. We are hardwired to go after something. God built us that way so that we wouldn’t just live a stale life. God wants us to live life to the fullest, so He gave us this desire to always work for something.
So let’s change the wording.
Instead of calling our new years resolutions by that label, let’s call them “goals” or “aspirations.” Maybe this will help actually complete one, right ? Who knows? I know we are all perfectly capable of achieving whatever we set our minds to, so come along with me as I list some of my choices for 2017, and maybe I can give you some inspiration to work on your own goals for next year.
- Journal More. I love to write, but I don’t really journal much. Writing in my blog is journaling for me most of the time, but I forget to write sometimes. So this will be a good habit to start, since it will probably give me ideas to share with you guys. My favorite journals are on sale at Mardel. They have bible verses on the front 🙂
- Read my bible every day. I plan on finding a bible reading plan, and will write a post on several of the ones that I find, so that if you like you can come along with me on a bible reading journey 🙂
- Study a devotional. My favorite one is Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, but I will be writing a post on several others so you can make your choice.
So there you have it. My three main goals for next year, outside of writing in this blog more often. I’m so excited to start on this journey with you as we start a new year! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and may God bless all of you!
Until Next Time,
